Aid Gareth and Cathy's Health Battle

Hi, my name is Delia and I'm fundraising for Gareth and Cathy Williams.

Gareth and Cathy have face incredible challenges over their 20 years of marriage since Cathy was diagnosed with Crohns Disease in 2001. What began with what they thought was appendicitis led to numerous surgeries, including life-saving procedures and the installation of a stoma. Despite their hardships Gareth and Cathy persevered through career aspirations and raising a family of their 2 children and grandson.

In recent years Cathy's health has taken a severe turn. Complications from Crohns Disease have led to frequent hospitalizations, bowel obstructions and the development of hernias.

These battles have been relentless requiring Gareth to balance his work away from home to support their financial needs while ensuring Cathy's care and comfort during hospital stays.

Recently, Cathy's health crisis deepened when she developed pneumonia and subsequent kidney failure. Medical tests also revealed a severe heart failure causing additional strain and uncertainty. With ongoing medical appointments and the need to discontinue her Crohn's medication due to its impact on her heart

her journey has become more challenging.

To sustain their family until he can secure local employment, he may need to work away from home, despite the emotional toll and fear of being away during critical times for Cathy. The financial strain from medical bills, everyday expenses and the necessity of Gareth's presence during hospitalizations weighs heavily on his shoulders.
