Aid from Kent to Chernihiv Ukraine

Hello Everyone,

My name is Jordan Meade and I’m urgently seeking sponsorship for our next humanitarian aid mission to the far north east of Ukraine.

Since 2023, my volunteer team (based in Gravesend, Kent) and I have been collecting, sorting and delivering vital supplies out to Chernihiv in Ukraine. Chernihiv is a region in northern Ukraine, bordering both the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus. In 2022, the Russians advanced through the Chernihiv on their way to Kyiv, holding significant parts of the region under occupation for weeks on end. During the occupation horrific war crimes were committed here. Being on the borderline of the conflict, the region continues to experience the terrible impact of war at close quarters, including nightly aerial attacks, shelling and sadly the loss of civilian lives.

Our previous highly successful humanitarian work in Chernihiv, led to Kent entering into regional partnership with the Chernihiv Region back in 2024, and since then we have been working hard to twin communities, schools, organisations and businesses here in Kent with their equivalents in Chernihiv. We are soon to officially launch ‘Kent With Ukraine’ as a charity to strengthen and further the voluntary effort of the past three years.

But back to our immediate mission, we are ready to deliver tons of aid directly to Chernihiv, but we need your support to fund the transportation. The journey from north Kent to Chernihiv in Ukraine by van is hard and arduous, but our volunteer drivers (like Tom and Mick) are ready and raring to go, as they know from our previous trips just how much of a difference these vital convoys make.

We have tons of urgently needed medical supplies, rescue and mobility equipment ready to go and with your support we are hoping to be able to take at least one if not two vans of aid out to Chernihiv over the next few weeks. We will be taking the medical supplies and other items directly to those who need it most – this is a boots on the ground exercise of getting aid delivered to where it can make the most impact. We will deliver the aid collected to civilians in schools, orphanages, care homes and hospitals in northern Ukraine.

Our team of local volunteers make an incredible sacrifice of time and personal expense to be able to undertake these journeys, and your support will make a profound difference to how much we can take on this trip and how quickly we can make an impact in Ukraine. Every penny of the donations will go directly to funding the transportation of humanitarian aid directly to northern Ukraine.

We will make sure that photos and videos of the equipment, our travels and the end results are updated both on this page and on our Kent With Ukraine website to ensure that you can see how your donation is making a difference.

Having visited Ukraine multiple times over the past three years, I cannot put into words just how much our support is needed right now. It is a beautiful country full of the strongest and most incredible people who sadly have been made to suffer the most appalling aggression, which is why we are on a mission to extend the hand of friendship and show the people of Chernihiv that we will stand with them in unity through action.
