Hello all,
My Name is Frank Meuse. After being diagnosed with COVID in November 2020 I was living a fairly normal life. On January 19, 2021 I was rushed to the emergency room in South Carolina startling my son and ex-wife with what we all thought was a heart attack. after 9 days in the ER, I was diagnosed with 2 forms of a heart disease. 1st being P.O.T.S Disease which is a Postural Orthostatic Tachycardic Syndrome, Which means depending on the posture I have at that moment (laying or standing) I can go into Tachycardia (normally in the 200+ BPM range. and A-Fib. A-fib is a non threatening heart disease that a lot of people have and is very common. After 8-10 months after my diagnosis I was once again rushed to the ER with again was something I had never felt prior to this. I was at the gym with my son, When suddenly my heart rate according to my apple watch jumped up to 296 BPM which scared the life out of me. In front of my son I lost consciousness and fell to the ground and was rushed to the ER where a 3rd diagnosis was made at this point, SVT. SVT is Supra Ventricular Tachycardia. Although on its own not seen to be too dangerous as what my Cardiologist in S.C told me, People live with it. Once I moved back home to N.Y, I was introduced by my Brother to my Cardiologist in Carmel. I was now told that having all 3 of these is a concoction that can in fact be deadly. All in 4 years my life spiraled out of control and I could not catch a break. I was finally booked for surgery on 10/30/24. The surgery was a success so it seemed, 3 weeks without any SVT attacks or any palpitations at least. week 4 hit me like a ton of bricks of reality kicking back in. It was back and worse that before. I now have to go back in for another surgery in the next 3-4 months after I get cleared for surgery in my upcoming appointments with my Electrophysiologist, Cardiologist and PCP. This disease has changed my life for the worse and COVID has ruined my life as well. I want to get better for my 17 year old son and I want to live a life where I am not worried about my heart condition any longer. I can not go to the gym because my heart wont allow. I can not walk up a flight of stairs in fear I will end up in the ER again. Please help me. I got the surgery before but now my insurance is telling me this is considered an "elective" surgery and they will not be covering it this time in full. I will need to make an upfront payment to have the surgery done. Anything you can do will help.
Thank you and god bless!
