My husband's name is Frank Sanchez. He was born into a family that has and is serving our country in the United States Armed Forces. Frank’s father, a WWII combat-wounded veteran, had earned a Purple Heart for his sacrifices on the battlefield.
In April 1972, Frank voluntarily enlisted in the Army following his father’s path. He was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. Frank's son, nephew, and grandson have and are currently serving our country.
My husband and I currently live in El Paso, Texas; my husband has been battling liver cancer for two years. There are no more opportunities for him to receive radiation or chemotherapy. My husband has been placed on the liver transplant list, which is his only resort left to save his life. The doctors have placed my husband higher on the liver transplant list, and he could be called at any time. This GoFundMe page will help with the medical expenses thus far and help to sustain our 6-8 week stay in Dallas, Texas, post-surgery.
Fate has a mysterious way of weaving people’s lives together. In 2018, Frank and I met at a music concert. What started as a chance encounter soon blossomed into something beautiful. In our sixties, we found a love worth waiting for, and two years later, we became husband and wife. We will be married for 5 years this December. I became my husband’s rock, standing beside him while he is fighting liver cancer and while he is enduring his treatments. My husband remains hopeful and determined to keep fighting—not just for the love we have built together but also for the love he has for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Thank you for your support.
