Aid for Zeus and His Loving Family

Anyone who has ever met me, even once, has most likely heard me mention my soul dog, Zeus. I rescued Zeus when he was just a few weeks old at a very low point in my life and have created the most beautiful bond with him that I never could have believed I’d be able to achieve with an animal. Zeus is my very best friend and has gotten me through some very dark times that I couldn’t have gotten through without him.

With a heavy heart, I have to speak about an accident that Zeus was involved in on Saturday, July 19th. This accident led me to have to rush him directly to an emergency vet over an hour away from our home, which luckily was able to start caring for him immediately and give him the help he needed. Zeus has had a previous heart condition that he’s carried with him since his birth, and we are not sure if the blunt force trauma has caused it or just his body continuing to develop it, but I was just informed he is going into congestive heart failure. The accident caused him to have fluid in his lungs as well as some abrasions to his mouth/face.

With a little background on my situation, I’m a single-income household raising my three-year-old nephew, who I have recently adopted, and disasters like this have put me in severe financial stress. I’ve always been very reluctant to ask others for help as I am aware that we all have our own struggles to deal with, but after tonight, I’m afraid I have no other choice. The vet visit alone has cost me an out-of-pocket amount of close to $600 to get him the treatment he needed tonight, and after speaking to his vet, I’ve learned that in order to combat the heart failure, he will need to stay on his heart medication as well as have visits with a cardiologist, which, as many can expect, will not be a cheap service.

I’m asking for anyone out there who is able to help us out in this time of suffering. Every donation truly would be a blessing, and I cannot thank you all enough in advance. If everyone could please keep us in your prayers that we are able to get through this tough time and that we are able to give Zeus as much time as he can possibly have, as my little family will never be the same without him.
