Aid for WSFCS School Staff in Crisis
Donation protected
Recently, WS/FCS announced a massive Reduction in Force (RIF), eliminating or demoting 350 positions, including 50 assistant principals, Exceptional Children (EC) teachers, EC teacher assistants (ECTAs), secretaries, and other essential staff.
Some of us have dedicated our entire professional lives to this district. We’ve built relationships, supported families, and poured our hearts into serving students. But now, everything has changed.
Many others have already had their contracts terminated with no alternatives.
These cuts are not the result of poor performance or misconduct. They happened because of financial mismanagement beyond our control. We were given no warning, no time to prepare, and no chance to secure other positions before the announcement.
For some, this means losing their family’s only source of income overnight. This feels like a deep betrayal.
Assistant principals and support staff are not “extra.” We are the ones schools call when A child is in crisis, A classroom is disrupted, A family needs help navigating complex EC services.
Yet, a formula created by an outside consulting company now decides who stays and who goes, reducing people to numbers, without considering years of service, relationships, or impact on students.
The result?
Broken trust, disrupted lives, and students—especially our most vulnerable—losing advocates who fight for them every day.
Why We’re Fundraising
This is not just for me. It’s for everyone impacted by this devastating decision, including assistant principals, teachers, EC staff, secretaries, and other vital team members.
Many of us are facing immediate financial crises: housing, food, utilities, and childcare are at risk while we search for new employment.
Your donation will provide emergency relief for those who need it most during this unexpected transition.
How Funds Will Be Distributed
Funds will be allocated to ALL verified individuals affected by the recent WS/FCS RIF who apply for assistance.
For full transparency, this campaign benefits a group of people, not just one individual.
We are using a short application process to ensure fair and need-based distribution.
