The other night, our beautiful 6 year old mountain cur mix, Winnie Cooper got a cut in her throat that wouldn’t stop bleeding. We discovered she has an autoimmune disorder called Immune-mediated thrombocytopenia (IMT) which causes her immune system to attack itself and keeps platelets from forming.
She is being hospitalized for a few days and will need a plasma transfusion to get her through this. Then, if all goes well, we will be working on further immune system treatment.
She is the gentlest girl, the best big sister, the most amazingly goofy, sleepy darling.
Any help you can give would mean the world to our little family. Thank you so much. We love you.

Here is a cost breakdown (+ $1200 yesterday at primary care for blood tests, triage, steroids). This is the first phase and we may be looking at an even higher price tag eventually. But for now:
