We are urgently raising funds to help prevent foreclosure and keep our family safely housed after my father, William Kollie, was unexpectedly detained by ICE following his asylum hearing on February 4, 2026. William has lived in the United States for nearly 10 years after entering legally on a visa. During that time, he has worked consistently, paid taxes, supported his family, and built a stable life. He has no criminal history and is known as a respectful, law-abiding member of his community.
After losing his job in September and now being detained, our family is facing an immediate financial crisis. William’s mother currently lives in the family home, and missed mortgage payments have placed the home at risk of foreclosure. The monthly mortgage alone is significant, not including utilities, insurance, and other essential bills. William is also a father to two young children in Minnesota, where he helps cover housing and living expenses. Multiple households depend on him financially, and his sudden detention has created a gap that our family cannot cover alone.
We have already spent a significant amount in legal fees since his detainment, and we know this is only the start of the uphill battle that lies ahead.
Funds raised will go directly toward catching up on missed mortgage payments to prevent foreclosure, paying utilities and insurance to maintain safe housing, covering car payments needed for daily life and transportation, basic living expenses for the household, and legal and case-related costs as needed. Any amount helps. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser to help us reach others who may be able to help. Thank you for helping protect our family from losing our home during this incredibly difficult time.
