Aid for Typhoon Rolly (Goni) Victims

Donation protected
On November 2nd, the Philippines was hit by Super Typhoon Rolly (international name: Goni). The was an extremely powerful storm  making landfall Sunday morning with 10-minute sustained winds of 220 km/h (140 mph), and 1-minute sustained winds of 315 km/h (195 mph). It is one of the most powerful storms on record and the most powerful storm in the world in 2020. The hardest hit areas were where the typhoon first made landfall in the Bicol region. In the provinces of Catanduanes and Albay, at least 20 people died and thousands have been displaced from their homes.

My wife's hometown of Polangui, Albay was badly hit. She and her family are safe and well and we have the resources to ensure they will be comfortable. However, other families have suffered severe property damage due to the high winds and flooding. Farmers have lost their rice crop. Electricity supplies are being restored but it will take weeks. On top of all that, covid-19 is very much present in the region and is impacting on people's ability to earn a living and makes it unsafe to stay in evacuation centres.

With any funds I raise, it will be transferred directly to my wife in Polangui. She will use the money to buy food and sanitary packs  and these will be distributed to the less fortunate people in Polangui who really need it. We estimate each pack will cost around 200 pesos. So for 20,000 pesos we could support 100 individuals. 20,000 pesos is around 350 Euro.
For transparency, I will post photos of the food packs being distributed.

I am doing this via gofundme to remove the admin costs and delays of going through a charity or the possible corruption of going through government channels. You can be sure that every cent will be spent on relief goods.

If you would prefer to send money via a registered charity then feel free to donate via these links:
