Aid for Tornado Recovery: Morganfield Family
Donation protected
On Friday, May 16th, a devastating tornado tore through Morganfield, KY. My brother and his new wife—my wonderful sister-in-law—were visiting friends at the time, safely sheltered in a home with a basement. But while they were out, the storm struck their land with full force.
When they returned, they were met with heartbreak. Their barn, workshop, and both garages had been completely destroyed—reduced to just the concrete pad they were built on. Their home, though still standing, was so badly damaged it’s now unlivable.
The photo on the cover is what used to be their shop and garages—a place filled with hard work, dreams, and memories.
They had three beloved horses, two dogs, and a cat. Miraculously, the dogs and cat escaped injury, and while the horses survived, they weren’t untouched. My sister-in-law’s horse needed stitches in her leg, and my brother’s horse suffered a troubling injury near her hoof—one the vet still can’t fully explain.
They’ve lost so much. And now, they’re facing the overwhelming task of rebuilding their entire life from the ground up.
My brother and sister-in-law are incredibly proud people. They’ve never asked for help—not like this. But this tragedy has shaken them to their core. They are devastated and unsure where to even begin.
If you feel moved to help in any way, no matter how small, it would mean the world. Thank you for reading, for caring, and for standing with them during this heartbreaking time. ❤️
