Help Us Get Aid To The People in Gaza
Please help us get Emergency Relief to civilians and children suffering on the ground in Gaza.
Over the last week, the Gaza Strip has witnessed unimaginable devastation. 6,000 bombs have been dropped on Gaza and over 700 children killed. Official death toll is over 2,750 (as of 15th Oct), but charity workers on the ground say it's more likely closer to 10,000. Dozens of families (over 45 so far) have had all living generations wiped out. According to UNWA over 1 MILLION people have now been displaced.
There are 2.2 Million people living in Gaza, 50% of which are under 18 - that's over 1 Million children. These people are trapped in Gaza, blocked by land, air and sea with nowhere to go. Water, electricity, fuel and medical aid have been cut off since October 11th with devastating effects. Hospitals have run out of fuel and have been bombed, and ordered to evacuate - jeopardising the protection of critically wounded and sick individuals.
The killing of ANY innocent civilian and child - Palestinian, Israeli or otherwise - is heart-breaking and simply WRONG.
We can't watch this happen and look the other way - please help us get support to those in desperate need to help them survive this living nightmare.
We are working with Anera, an organisation operating on the ground with partners in Palestine (West Bank and Gaza). Anera is a U.S. registered charity founded in 1968 with no political or religious affiliations. It works on the ground with partners in Palestine, Lebanon and Jordan to provide humanitarian assistance and sustainable development for refugees and other vulnerable communities. 97 cents per dollar go directly to program work. It has a team in Gaza right now that's distributing ready-to-eat food parcels and essential supplies to displaced families and schools (4,000 parcels were sent yesterday). They are currently working tirelessly with the Jordanian government to get medical aid through the border.
We are also collecting supplies with the TFT group in Egypt (please follow this link to find out more). We were personally introduced to Lina who is in charge of getting all supplies by an Egyptian contact. TFT are sending trucks full of humanitarian aid (food, water, medical and hygiene kits) into Gaza.
Last but not least we will be supporting Inheritance Intl (follow the link), a Palestinian family-owned NGO who we were also introduced to personally. They aim to create a sustainable environment for Palestinian children and adolescents, especially those who have been orphaned during the crisis, once the corridors open. Their focus is largely on the children's long-term social well-being, education and soft-skills. Tamer and his family have been working with children from around the world for a few years but are now solely focusing their efforts on Palestine.
The smallest fraction of whatever you can give, can make a LIFE CHANGING difference to another person who is suffering due to the current crisis, and ultimately, save a life. If we pool together we are stronger and can make a bigger difference.
We will be posting updates from our partners and people on the ground regarding the distribution of your donation and the amazing work done with your support!
Here are some examples of how you can make an immediate impact:
$30 can provide the Central Blood Bank Society in Gaza with 16 blood bags - blood bags are a vital element in ensuring patient survival during a crisis
$80 can provide a hygiene kit to two displaced families - these kits include hand soap, shampoo, toilet paper, laundry detergent, toothpaste, and more
$100 can provide a displaced family with a food parcel that will meet their nutritional needs for 7-10 days - these food parcels include canned tuna, cheese, kidney beans, jam, za'atar, and more
$200 can provide 2 displaced families with food parcels to meet their nutritional needs.
THANK YOU
