Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

My name is Gina and I am organizing this GoFundMe for one of my best friends, Megan. We met in herb school over 20 years ago and bonded instantly. She is my soul sister. She stood up in my wedding. The birth of her first child set me on the path to becoming a nurse-midwife. I am fairy godmother to her second child. She and her family (partner Adam, 3 children, and 2 cute dogs) live in Asheville, NC. I love them all so much. My heart broke and continued to shatter as I learned of the ongoing destruction and devastation of Hurricane Helene on their lovely community. Megan is an amazing healer and acupuncturist, but her business location is gone and she has no income for the foreseeable future. Her partner’s income has significantly decreased because many of his delivery accounts are now closed, damaged, or destroyed in the floodwaters. The oldest child’s place of employment is literally gone. They are living in a state of uncertainty and fear, with no real timeline for the restoration of electricity and water, and limited access to food and fuel. They are still figuring out what their next steps will be, but in the meantime, they need help.
