Aid for The Bailey Family: Covering Ellie's Medical Expenses

Please meet sweet little Miss Ellie Rynn Bailey. Her Daddy (Justin), Mommy (Ashley) and big sister Eva welcomed her into the world at 12:49am on Tuesday, January 14th. Ellie is a little fighter and weighed in at 8lbs 9oz and 19 1/2 inches long. She is a very strong and loved little girl!

Sadly, Ellie's journey into the world has had a few bumps along the way. Early into Ashley's pregnancy the doctors discovered some abnormalities to Ellie's heart. Unfortunately, they could not know the extent of the issue until she was born. The doctors and family were prepared for surgery once she was born. Ellie was delivered via emergency C-Section and was taken immediately to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Emory for evaluation. She was placed on oxygen, feeding tube and heart monitors, as well as medication to keep her aorta open and functioning. On Wednesday evening Ellie was transported via ambulance to the Arthur Blank Children's Hospital and placed in the NICU there. The specialists are hopeful Ellie will not have to have open heart surgery, and that they will be able to treat her with a less invasive procedure. Currently this sweet baby girl is fighting hard and doing well. Her team is still evaluating, performing tests, CT scans etc. to help them plan the best course of treatment for her.

The family is so very grateful for the all the talented specialists and amazing care Ellie is receiving. Unfortunately, this amazing care comes at a price. Even with insurance, the expenses are rising quickly for Justin and Ashley. This added to loss of income from Ashley being put on bed rest midway through her pregnancy only compounds concerns. While they are focusing on Elli's recovery it would be so amazing if we could help lift the added burden of expenses for them.
