Support Tameeka's Fight Against Brain Cancer

Life for certain is a journey. For some, the journey is with little pain or suffering. For others, Like my dear niece Tameeka, a beautiful woman, full of life, and so much to live for, the journey took a downward turn in 2023 when she was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a brain cancer ,and one of the most aggressive types. As devastating as this is , Tameeka managed to keep smiling. Several reasons: her faith, the strong support of her parents other family members, and her beautiful 5 year old daughter Chloe, her ray of sunshine.

Well as you can imagine the cancer is progressing. Tameeka continues to have all the necessary medical treatment that’s available and that is offered and covered by her spouse’s VA insurance. As you can also imagine, insurance doesn’t cover every expense. Tameeka presently resides in Jacksonville FL, but needs to travel back and forth to Gainesville for necessary evaluations, tests, etc. Her parents are there with her through it all, with their love and support and serving as her caregiver, however, their home is in Tallahassee therefore back and forth road travel is often necessary and can be physically and financially exhausting. Their service as caregiver involves everything imaginable as her mobile and communication abilities decline. This involves assisting in Tameeka's daily hygiene. That being said , bathroom adjustments are necessary to accommodate her needed care. Removing a bath tub and replacing with a walk in seated shower . They are also assisting with the care of their granddaughter Chloe, transporting her to and from school ,housekeeping, cooking and any and everything needed to help Tameeka.

For whatever time God allows, we’d like to help make it as comfortable as possible for Tameeka and also relieve some of the financial strain and lighten the load that her parents have lovingly taken on. Every bit of help means so much.
