On January 27th, my stepfather was involved in a major car accident outside of Galena, Illinois in the territory . His truck went off the road, resulting in a broken neck and severe spinal injuries. He has been in the ICU and hospital since the accident, and the doctors have informed us that he will never walk again. He will need extensive care in a rehabilitation center and possibly a nursing home. The situation has been especially hard on my elderly, disabled mother, who relies on SSDI and has been traveling back and forth to the hospital, incurring significant expenses.
