Help Spencer's Mom with her Debt & Health Issues

Howdy folks, Spencer here and today I'm raising funds to help my mom through some financial and medical issues she has been going through.

Health wise, my Mom just had a knee replacement in the later half of February to try and help with some of her mobility issues. However she has had a very difficult time recovering as she is taking care of my sister's kids, day and night. I do my best to help where I can, but my sister being absent most of the time does not help.

Financially, my mom has been struggling for a while as she's on Disability and has had some mobility issues. With my sister and her kids moving back in with her last year, my mom racked up an enormous amount of debt taking care of the kids as my sister cares only about herself and knew she could manipulate my mom, who has essentially raised them so far, to cover the majority of the expenses for them.

Her debt got to a point where nearly her entire monthly income from Disability was going straight into cards, that she then had to use again immediately to cover items throughout the month. As such, earlier this year she contacted an attorney and was going to file for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

Following her attorney's recommendations, she almost had enough saved, and their plan with her was for her to pay them within the next week or so.

Sadly, that's where my sister comes back into play. My sister has thyroid cancer and refuses to see doctors here in Des Moines, as she only wants to see some out in Omaha (about a 2 hour drive away). In late February, she convinced my mom that they needed to head out there asap, so they got a hotel and stayed for a few nights. This was about a week after my mom's knee replacement, and after falling three times on the trip, she was admitted back into the hospital for a few days upon returning home.

Then here in early March, my sister had an appointment scheduled to get blood drawn, and with a blizzard approaching, and her saying she was on their cancel list to try and get in for her surgery sooner (currently scheduled for March 13th), she guilt tripped my mom into heading back out there to stay in the hotel again. Her plan was for them to stay there for 1.5-2wks.

While my sister ran her own gofundme to help fund the trip, sadly my mom was the one covering many of the cost. That added in with my sister not paying her portion of rent means that the savings my mom had built up to pay her attorney evaporated.

Hence why I've now decided to start up this gofundme to try and recover the situation and make sure she can get the legal work done that she needs to.

Now I also want to thank everyone who helped with the fundraising I did for her so far on my recent streams. That has helped cover bills and helped with some medical related purchases that her insurance doesn't cover.

Starting goal is $2k, ~$1.5k of that is to cover the legal/attorney fees. Rest is to further help out with bills and reduce the pressure she is under.

I know right now is a tough time for many, but any help you can provide here is great appreciated.
