Update on Jessica

Sorry Im late posting and updating.

Jessica is home now, she was released from the hospital Aug 2.

Her recovery is slow but she is taking it 1 day at a time.

Her and her kiddos still need financial help, any dollar amount helps...please feel free to share.

Staples removed today and little update!

Wreck was 2 weeks ago today.

I was waiting until after my appointment today at IU Methodist Neuroscience to have all 42 of my staples removed to post my update. Also wanted to share pictures of the before(last night) and after (today) along with a side view of the screws/rods sticking out. Kinda gross, kinda cool. ‍♀️

Its been a long week for all of us here at home, trying to adjust to the new/temporary normal life daily routines, keeping my pain under control and trying to stay positive. The nights are hard and hit me the most, but I'm still being very positive and taking it all one day at a time while not overdoing it.

Earlier in the week was very rough, with several bad days filled with pain, tears and lots of anger. But yesterday and today have been the best days I've had. I was able to go to the bank and the grocery store yesterday. It was so nice to see the work crew (most of em). Today, we went to the hospital for the staples to be removed and managed to go out to eat at one of my favorite resturants.

It feels so good to be able to do normal things that I love doing, just in a different way but still enjoyable and thankful I can even walk.

Im still having A LOT of pain in my lower back and hips due to the nerve damage from the spinal cord injury. We're hopeful that the nerves will heal over time. Im constantly in a state of burning, tingling, numbness sensation in my lower back/hips/pelvis area. It gets so bad that I forget my back is literally broken. Nothing helps the nerve pain, but I'm managing.

My car did get totaled out, so I will be in the market for a new car here in just a few short months.

I wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who has helped me and my family in any way. Between the generous donations, wishes, visits, calls, texts, food and all of the thoughts and prayers. It takes a village and I have a whole village and army behind me. Very thankful for that.

I also want to give a special shout out to Kris Holland for being my caregiver (willingly, lol). I know that it's a lot and hard at times. You have to wait on me hand and foot for almost everything. Between bringing me something to drink, waking me up to take my meds around the clock and wiping my ass, you literally are killing it and I am so proud of you. You're amazing. I love you and I appreciate you.

I'll post more updates here and there to keep everyone informed. Its a lot to message every single person. But dont be afraid to reach out. I rest when needed and will always reach back out if I miss your text or call.

I was finally released from the hospital after a 9 day stay. Pain managment has been a struggle at home and trying to adjust to daily activities. Slowly able to get my mobility back and able to take short rides in the car and short walks, with a walker. I have all 42 of my staples removed last week. There's still a very long, painful road to recovery. Going to be out of work for at least 6 months is already starting to take a toll on us here at home due to the bills starting to pile up. My car did get totaled out, so I will also be looking to buy a car when I am more healed and released to be able to drive on my own again.

Any small donation or even just a share to help is tremendous. My family and I appreciate it all. This could've been a very different outcome and we're all surprised that I didnt lose my full ability to walk. I am very lucky and I am so blessed.

I still have a lot of nerve damage to my lower back, hips and groin region. Its very slow healing and hasn't really gotten much better since being in the hospital.

Hello!! A good family friend of ours Jessica Holland, was in a really bad car accident on the way to work.

She lost control of the car and went airborne off the end of the overpass/rail on 800 heading west. She got transferred to IU, and the T12 in the middle of her back is fractured, basically burst. It shifted her spine and is putting a lot of pressure on her spinal cord. She was rushed into surgery and has 8 screws and 2 rods put in, along with some drainage tubes.

We are doing this to help her out as much as possible. She will be out of work for 6 months, maybe longer. She is a single momma with 2 littles and will not be able to afford all her bills with no income. We ask if you can find it in your heart to help her or pass this along. Please share this for Jessica and her 2 children...she is going to need all the financial help she can get, being off work 6 months or longer is really going to be a big struggle.

This young lady has been through so much, she battled cancer and is in remission and now having a broken back due to the horrible car wreck she was in July 25th and she will be in the hospital 1, maybe 2 more weeks, not sure when she will get to come home.

We are trying to keep her from losing her home and keeping her afloat during her time of healing and recovery.
