Aid for Service Dog Trevor's Tumor Surgery

Donation protected
Hi, I'm Mandy, the grateful handler and team beneficiary of Service Dog Trevor Brown.

Trevor is a 9 yo Light Golden Retriever

He was trained for 22 months by the awesome Foundation for Service Dog Support in Arizona. His $30,000 worth of very healthful breeding and training made him fit to be a public work federally recognized Service Animal/Working dog.

He used calmness, wisdom, and extreme adaptivity to provide mobility assistance, medical alerting, and light water rescue.

What does that mean? It means he can carry out about 25 tasks and also do so in public. For perspective, a k9 officer does not do public work and an extremely exceptional animal will do 4-8 tasks, but not with th added requirements of interacting with every person and situation I encounter going through life. ;)

He has surgery requirements now and we'd adore assistance!!

Trevor was trained amazingly by his original handler Megan. He has been a rock and a calming, attentive work horse of an animal through many of life's ups and downs.

I had major head injuries and six strokes. We've been a team almost 8 years.

He helps with
Medical alerting for neurological paralysis and migraines
Walking/counterbalancing
Helped me relearn to walk in thousands of hours of pool work
Opens doors, drawers
Helps with grocery shopping
Getting dressed
Turning lights on and off
Picking items up or placing them
Getting water, meds, phone, shoes, etc

Trevor has helped me do all kinds of things from fun running heavy equipment to meeting with legislative directors in Homeland Security and in Capitol hill. He's assisted as a perfect example of a true working animal when I've spoken in front of 750+ people. He aids daily in my home and when going through my own therapies and doctors appointments. He completed Civilian Law Enforcement Academy as the only dog to do as a public work dog. We volunteer with the Sheriffs Dept, charities to aid Autistic people in Tech like me, our faith community and would always love to aid every good person he meets.

I'm so proud of him and honored I got the chance to have him help me through so many deeply challenging things. He's done more than people and he also brings joy and delight to many, many people.

From the wheelchair and utter isolation to traveling, moving, living on my own and starting new life paths, he's always there.

I had $4000 of my own unexpected medical bills surface in the past two months. I am still fully disabled and on fixed income.

He has a growth near his tail that tested as definitely not good. Surgery will remove the mass and go deeper to look for any other problems.

An exceptional animal and we would adore your aid.

Trevor Brown is extremely healthy and has exceptional health and mindset to be able to continue service work for a good while after this bump in the road. He has very healthy teeth, gums, joints, and digestion. He pulled through near death a few years ago from a medication reaction and bounced back to full work mode. He's a gem and so I so desire he has every good thing he can.

Your aid helps us both, and I know he will return souch love to every kind donor!!!
