I’ve created this GoFundMe to help my brother in-law Sean Dame and his family during this very difficult time in their life.

Sean, a 41 year old husband to Sara, dad of two, Liam (9), Aubrey (6) and beloved member of the Exeter-West Greenwich community suffered a severe medical emergency. It started with what he described as the worst headache of his life, along with some numbness in his arms and some pain in his back. Being the age he is, it was brushed off as a really, really bad migraine. A couple days passed and he still wasn’t feeling well so he went to Kent County Hospital where they concluded that a heart attack didn’t happen but to follow up with a cardiologist and his primary care. On Thursday 2/19 before he could be seen by a cardiologist he was taken by ambulance to Rhode Island Hospital where he was diagnosed with a dissecting Aortic Aneurysm, a very serious condition where the hearts aorta has a tear causing internal bleeding. He was taken in for emergency open heart surgery that lasted 6 long hours. With lots of prayers and a really great surgical team, we are grateful to say he is here with us today. Although he’s not completely out of the woods we are very hopeful he will have a full recovery.
