Aid for the Lee Family Facing Unimaginable Loss

Sudden loss far from home -- help for Sarah, Hannah, and Henry.

Our family has experienced an unimaginable loss. While Sarah and her family were taking a short visit to Sarah's home country of Germany, she unexpectedly lost her beloved husband, our brother, son, and friend, Alex. The diagnosis came out of the blue; a previously undetected brain tumor that took his life within a couple of weeks. Alexander David Lee is survived by his beautiful wife, Sarah; two beautiful children, Henry, age 2 and Hannah, age 4; his parents, Sheridan, Scott, Beth, Rusha, John, and Patricia; and his siblings Lynnea, Chase, Sam, and Frank.

Sarah and her two beautiful children currently reside in Maryland. However, Sarah and the children are still currently in Germany. She is away from her home having to care for two small children, while trying to grieve this unbelievable loss, and also facing a mountain of organizational and financial challenges.

Emergency medical care, formalities, and countless official international procedures mean enormous costs. It is still unclear whether and how much the foreign health insurance covers. Therefore, Sarah now has to advance a lot herself including the cost of returning to the US, necessary legal and logistical steps, and having the ability to provide her children with safety and security.
