Hello everyone, We recently discovered that my father, Raymond Garcia, is being hospitalized in Vietnam. Raymond resides in Vietnam with his wife, Thuy, and their sons, Joseph and Bow.

Raymond is blind and recently suffered a stroke. He fractured another femur and foot after a recent fall. Raymond is 100% dependent on assistance (with everything) and will require rehabilitation to recover as much as possible from the stroke. Since the initial draft of this posting, he has shown signs of renewed will to move and attempt to communicate, responding to our daily Facebook video calls. Also, Raymond was diagnosed with pneumonia after a week in the hospital. Currently, he is being considered for transfer to a hospital specializing in lung diseases.

Our family here has stepped up to bring hospital bills current, aided by a missionary team who facilitated the process (Thank you!). Unfortunately, we lack a deep understanding of his conditions or medical history due to the language barrier and the privacy laws.

We are reaching out for help with this GoFundMe campaign to assist with his hospital expenses, travel, and to seed/fund his rehabilitation or bring him back to Houston. Once we are on the ground we’ll establish ourselves as family and assess his conditions and options come up with a practical short term and long term plan to get him on a path to better wellness.
