Aid for Christopher Putz, Retired Officer Critical Recovery

My dad, a retired police officer, loved all sorts of outdoor activities, such as bike riding. Tragically, on March 8 his bicycle malfunctioned leading to a horrific crash during one of his mountain trail rides. He was thrown headfirst onto the ground, found unconscious and had to be airlifted to the ICU. He sustained a traumatic brain and spinal injury, broken facial bones, and limited movement in both of his arms. His helmet saved his life.

While we are incredibly grateful that he survived, the road to recovery will be long and uncertain. Already, he has had to undergo three surgeries and much more treatment is needed as he is only able to lay in bed, unable to get up or speak. It is heartbreaking to see such a proud and independent man in such a helpless condition. He was once a motorcycle officer and the very picture of strength and vitality. We are doing everything we can to help him regain the independence he once had, such as to travel with my mom in their RV, after a lifetime of serving others.
