Aid for Nova's Surgery: Overcoming IVDD Together
Donation protected
Meet Nova! I adopted Nova on April 5, 2019 from a sweet family when was 9 months old. Together, Nova and I have shared hiking trips, kayaking trips, yoga sessions, hundreds of miles of city walks, trips to parks, play dates, car rides, and so much more. She supported me when I began to experience my own health issues in 2023. I love Nova, mi preciosa, my Bunjamina, my sweet girl.
On Monday night, she stopped greeting us at the door when Logan and I got home. She was trembling. We weren’t sure what was going on, so we monitored her until on Wednesday night, when we noticed she didn’t eat her food at all that day. We took her to the emergency vet hospital and they said we should watch her progression. They gave us medication for a bulging disk in her spine, and said that it would temporarily help with the pain and the inflammation.
The next day, she lost the ability to walk unassisted. We took her into surgery on Friday for IVDD, a condition that compresses the spine. She is on her way to recovery, but my family needs help paying the medical bills.
I have undergone my own health battles over the past 2 years, and have only just now paid off majority of my own from an epilepsy diagnosis last year. I cannot afford a surgery for her on my own.
Please consider helping us during our time of need.
A donation from you will cover the cost of her surgery, the diagnostic imaging, the aftercare from the veterinary staff, anesthesia, and even the small components that kept Nova comfortable as she rested in the postoperative area at BluePearl Veterinary Hospital.
