On Saturday, Dec. 14th, I moved into my new apartment in preparation for welcoming my baby girl. On Saturday night, I was awoken to the sound of yelling and the smell of smoke.

The apartment unit above me caught fire and was completely damaged, impacting our entire apt building with debris, smoke, and water damage.

As a result, the fire department has deemed my building unsafe and I was temporarily displaced and have lost access to all of my belongings including sentimental memorabilia, home essentials and baby preparations for my baby girl, due in March.

This unexpected situation has been somewhat overwhelming but i’m grateful for the support of my community.
