Help for My Mom Tonja’s Cancer Battle

Please help support Tonja as she battles cancer*** update***

As many of you know, Tonja Bitencourt was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer on the day before Thanksgiving. The cancer was identified as Uterine Carcinosarcoma, Stage 4, and has matasticized to her lungs and lymph system.

Tonja was released from hospital but due to the holidays, we did not meet with the oncology specialist until January 7, when we were told that the cancer was highly aggressive, and that surgery was not an option, because the tumor was so large and actually adhered to the pelvic structure. We were told that they suggested chemotherapy with hopes to make Tonja more comfortable, but the doctors were very clear that this would NOT cure the cancer, and their focus was to simply help control the level of constant pain.

We have seen miracle after miracle during treatment, from being led to alternative treatments to support the chemotherapy, to seeing God allow Tonja to continue working very limitedly, so that the full financial burden of her care did not fall on her family.

She has continued this alternative care throughout chemotherapy treatments, and God has moved in mighty ways.

The tumors are shrinking! And the surgery that we were told was IMPOSSIBLE in January has now been scheduled for June 16th! We are blessed with this amazing miracle, but it does present another challenge for Tonja financially.

She truly needs to be able to heal after surgery, and we are told to expect a 6-8 week recovery time, where Tonja will not be able to work.

We are asking for your help, to support Tonja during this surgery process, in hopes that she will not need to worry, and can focus on healing and beating this cancer for good-
