I am writing on behalf of my mom, Ana Campos and my siblings as our family goes through an incredibly difficult time after a serious freeway accident that left my mom and all of my siblings injured and traumatized. My mom suffered broken ribs and has been told she will be unable to work for at least three months. She is the primary source of income for our family, and this sudden loss of wages has placed us under significant financial strain.

All of my siblings sustained concussions. My youngest sibling, only 7 years old, broke her arm, lost a tooth and is shaken up from the incident. One sibling, age 18, suffered a concussion along with ongoing pain and dental issues, while two others, both 19, are experiencing neck and back pain in addition to concussions. Several of my siblings were just about to graduate or had recently graduated high school, making this an overwhelming and uncertain time for our family.

While driving on the freeway, traffic ahead suddenly swerved to avoid a person who was in the roadway. With no time to safely react, my mom’s vehicle was involved in the incident. After pulling over, turning on hazard lights, and calling 911, the vehicle was then rear-ended by one or more cars. The full details are still being investigated.

Funds raised will be used to help cover:

• Medical bills and follow-up care

• Recovery-related expenses

• Basic living expenses while my mom is unable to work

• Support for my siblings during their recovery
