My name is Donna O'Rourke. I am creating this GoFundMe for my husband, Mike O'Rourke, who is 68 and has been off from work since January due to health problems. After being given one injection of Mounjaro for type 2 diabetes, his glomerular filtration rate decreased to 25. The very next day after getting the injection, he started having blurred vision. Mike drives an 18-wheeler, and due to the vision problems, he cannot currently drive. He is scheduled for cataract surgery on March 18th for his right eye and April 8th for his left eye, hoping that will improve his vision. His eye doctor feels that it is the Mounjaro injection that has caused the vision problems, so we will not know for sure until after Mike has the cataract surgeries if his vision will improve.

Due to him not being able to work, his social security does not cover our mortgage and other bills. Mike went back on the company health insurance so that I would have health insurance, and he is having to continue to pay for that so we don't lose the health insurance. I recently broke the fibula in my left leg, and now I am experiencing fluid in my left knee, the bone marrow of the fibula, and in the calf muscle. I go back on April 2nd to the orthopedic doctor for another follow-up. If my knee is not better, he may have to go in with a scope.

If Mike's vision improves with the cataract surgeries, he will be able to return to work. In the meantime, we are needing financial help to make sure that our mortgage and other bills are covered.
