Aid for Mike's Heart Surgery Recovery
Donation protected
Mike Burdick - father of 6 - at only the age of 47 suffered a massive heart attack on Thursday, January 23rd. Mike was admitted to the ICU at Franciscan Hospital in Crown Point, IN, where he received immediate medical assistance upon arrival.
Mike went in for his first surgery on Saturday, January 25th to place a stent where a large blood clot had formed in his right artery, needing to be removed. Mike had a second procedure done 2 days later on Monday, January 27th on his left artery due to having 90% blockage, causing doctors to place two more stents. Even after life-altering surgeries, a large portion of Mike's left artery remains damaged along with extensive damage to his heart.
Mike will be out of work for at least a month and will be doing cardiopulmonary rehabilitation therapy for 12 weeks. As almost everyone knows, Mike and Nichole have a big, loving family consisting of 6 children. With Nichole only working part-time and Mike being out of work for a month or more, returning back to work with many restrictions, including needing limited hours to reduce stress on his heart and limited capability due to working in the construction union, we ask if anyone would help donate to cover monthly living expenses and medical bills, as well as that you all keep Mike and his family in your thoughts and prayers throughout his recovery journey. Thank you!
