Michael Jay “Mike” Jelley, 53, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on June 9, 2025. Born on January 25, 1972, in Chicopee, Massachusetts, Mike lived a life defined by deep devotion to his family and an unwavering passion for the things he loved.
Mike was the beloved husband of Vivienne and a devoted father to their son, Anthony “Tony” Jelley. His bond with Tony was especially strong—rooted in shared interests and countless conversations about video games. A lifelong gamer himself, Mike passed down not only his love for gaming but also his enthusiasm for heavy rock music. Whether reminiscing about concerts from his younger days or filling the house with thunderous riffs that shook the walls, Mike’s energy and spirit were ever-present.
He was a cherished brother to Debbie Carlene and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews who knew they could always count on him. Mike was predeceased by his parents, Jean and Clovis Jelley, as well as his brothers Carl “Andy” Jelley, Jeffrey Lynn Jelley, and Mark Wayne Jelley.
Those who knew Mike will remember him as the rock of the family—the one who stepped up without hesitation whenever someone needed help. His words, “we’ve got you,” were more than just reassurance; they were a promise backed by action. He gave freely of himself with compassion and strength that left a lasting impact on everyone around him.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.
