Hello, my name is Mike Skidmore. I am raising funds for Mike Dougherty’s wife and kids as they navigate life without him. To know Mikey, Mike D, or Milkweed (as I affectionately referred to him), was to love him. He had a magnetic personality that everyone always gravitated to. He was a son, brother, father, husband, and a best friend.

Unfortunately, Mike also had an addictive personality, a demon that he tried so hard to defeat for years. He lost his battle early morning, October 18, 2025. He leaves behind his mother, Denise, wife, Cherie, and three beautiful children.

I’m starting this fundraiser to help offset the costs of cremation, and for financial support for his wife and three children. Mike was the breadwinner in the family. I want to be able to raise enough that will allow Cherie to provide for her family as she now has to navigate life without him.
