On the 5th of August, Lombok and the Gili Islands were hit by a major earthquake of magnitude 7.0 that left many many families homeless. North Lombok, where many of our staff live with their Families was hardest hit.
Philipp and I, here in Gili Air are doing our best to help all our employees and their communities. At the moment access to safe water, baby supplies, food and materials to build waterproof shelter is limited and diminishing. In the longer term we want to give them the best chance to rebuild their homes, so life can go back to normal.
We want to help the people we worked together with, got to know and love whilst living here.
Every little bit helps to rebuild the lives of the people who you have in your holiday memories.
