Hello. My name is Kiley Brock. I am the Treasurer, Secretary, and a Firefighter of the East Branch Volunteer Fire Department.

On Thursday, July 17th, we lost one of our very own in the line of duty. What we thought would be just another call suddenly turned tragic. At approximately 9:38 PM, the East Branch Fire Department was toned out for an MVA involving a telephone pole with wires down and entrapment. Truck 1171 and Truck 1114 responded to the scene, not knowing our focus was going to immediately change from trying to save the individual from the truck to trying to save one of our own. Truck 1171 was the first to arrive on the scene, with Truck 1114 right behind it. As Truck 1171 arrived on the scene, we noticed wires down on the northbound side and a wire hanging across the southbound side. As 1114 pulled up behind Truck 1171, the top of his truck got caught in the wires in the southbound lane, and despite warning efforts from Truck 1171, Jason McGlone, the driver of 1114, got out of the apparatus, touching the truck and the ground at the same time, resulting in electrocution. Life-saving measures were performed immediately. Unfortunately, Jason McGlone succumbed to his injuries. He leaves behind a wife of 21 years, CaroleAnn McGlone, and 2 children, Addaleen McGlone and Michael McGlone, along with many friends and family members. Jason was a 25-year member of the East Branch Fire Department and was currently serving as an assistant chief.

I am raising these funds for the family he leaves behind. Although we can’t take away their pain, we may be able to ease it with some help. Any donation you can make, big or small, means the world.
