On April 1, 2026, a fire from an unknown cause severely damaged a large pole barn structure and multiple tobacco bulk barns belonging to Mark Rainey. There were multiple pieces of equipment damaged or destroyed in the fire as well, including a Gleaner M2 combine recently purchased by Mike Ross, which looks to be a total loss, and Mark's self-propelled high crop John Deere sprayer.

Mark, being semi-retired, no longer has insurance on the lost structure, and Mike's combine, being a recent purchase, had not been added to his insurance. If you can afford to give, please help these small farmers in their time of need.
