My name is Greta. A close friend of mine, Manuel, fell from a ladder the day after Christmas. He was hurt very badly and will never walk again. Because of the recent immigration raids in New Orleans, Manuel has been struggling to find safe employment and was working over the holidays to earn rent money for his family. Because of loopholes, we have been told that the homeowner's insurance will not pay for his medical bills because he is an undocumented immigrant. He supports his wife, daughter, and grandchildren. They live in a 3rd-floor walk-up apartment.
