Aid for Mandy's Kids: Cremation and Housing Costs

Mandy was a strong, private, independent, loving, single mother. She was the mother to the oldest child in our blended family, Kasey, who recently turned 18 in April, she also has an 11 year old daughter, Adalynn. Mandy was only 33 when she was diagnosed at the end of September 2024 with an aggressive form of breast cancer. She celebrated making it to her 34th birthday in April. She underwent every treatment that was available, from different types of chemo, to surgery, radiation, and oral medication therapies. Despite all of those things, the cancer never showed any signs of slowing down. A couple months ago she learned it had become metastatic, invading her brain, lymphatic system, and bones. Despite a grim prognosis of only a couple months, she continued to fight, going to radiation almost daily until she was no longer able to safely receive radiation. My husband, Eddie, and I, have been doing whatever we can to help Mandy in her end of life journey, as well as helping Kasey and Adalynn. After a tragically short battle with metastatic breast cancer, Mandy lost her battle while at the hospital, the morning of July 4th 2025. In efforts to help alleviate stress on the kids, Kasey in particular, we've taken over dealing with the logistics of the cremation. The cremation is going to be around $2000 give or take, on top of that, Kasey will be moving as soon as possible as he no longer qualifies to live in the housing he had been living in with his mom. He knows he's welcome to come stay with us, but we also have limited space and would like to afford him the opportunity of finding his own place if he would like. Anything raised passed the cost of the cremation will either be given to him to put down on a place of his own, or will be used to buy supplies to build him his own room within our space, whichever one it is he wants/needs most.
