Hey friends and family! As many of you know, our son Makoa was born 6 weeks early due to me having severe preeclampsia. We were truly not expecting to have a baby in the NICU, especially with no foreseeable date as to when he will be released to go home.
He has not been able to keep up with feeding bottles regularly and is still on the feeding tube and will be indefinitely. I’m on short-term disability right now, healing and dealing with the baby being in the hospital. Short-term disability only pays 60% of regular wages, and like many people these days, even when I am making 100% of my wages, things are still tight and budgeted very carefully.
Between all of the trips back and forth to the hospital, the added food and gas expense is more than we anticipated. We also recently resigned our lease, and rent was raised $300. With the baby being earlier than expected, we just weren’t quite ready to take on these extra financial burdens. The last thing I want to be stressing about right now is finances. Even a like or a share is extremely helpful.
