Quill Removal Costs for Sage & Chevy

Reaching out to all animals lovers who have a little extra money in their pockets this week. This is to help raise funds to pay for Sage & Chewy’s vet bills to have a huge amount of quills removed from their faces.

Sage is a 9yr old St.Bernard / Mastiff mix. Lynn has had Sage her entire 9 years of life. She is a very sweet & lovable old girl.

Chevy is a 5yr old Lab / Chow Chow mix. Lynn advocated for this pup. He was in an abusive home down in Texas. In very bad shape, she was able to get him over to the shelter down there where he was taken care of medically then she took him in under her care in 2022.

Unfortunately Lynn has been dealing with a porcupine problem for quite some time now. Her late husband used to deal with these issues but since he has passed & she’s been living on a fixed income it’s been hard for her to find the right affordable resources to keep these guys off her property & her dogs safe.

This is the 4th encounter Sage & Chevy have had with quills. Lynn was able to take care of the debt the previous 3 times but she’s struggling this time around to find the funds to get her pups the care she needs.

Lynn is willing to surrender Sage & Chevy in order to get them the correct care they need but she is absolutely heartbroken coming to this conclusion as these two pups are the last things she has to family in Maine.

Lynn is an elderly woman of Greene, Maine who is currently in recovery from a surgery she underwent last year. She’s living with physical restrictions which inhibits her from taking care of the outdoor yard herself. But she is every bit willing to accept help from her community. She’s struggled with finding affordable options to make these changes to her home but she has been trying for over a year now.

Future course of action:

Me and a group of people plan to go up to her property to clean up her yard, take care of this porcupine problem, & set up some runs / lead lines / outdoor lighting so these dogs can safely be outside.

Any help is so much appreciated, I don’t know Lynn personally but from what i’ve gathered she loves these pups very much and will do anything she can to provide for them. So from one animal lover to the next, I’m here to help her out as much as I can with some help from our amazing community. Thank you all in advanced ❤️

I’m not sure what the cost of these vet bills are going to be but if we exceed the bill amount in donations, the left over money will be used to go towards other emergency situations like this throughout the community.
