Aid for Lyanna: Surgical and Cremation Costs
Donation protected
Most of you know Lyanna from her time as a top notch service companion throughout some of my con years. After my Dad passed away, she really helped me through the grieving. Unfortunately, she needs surgery, and, unfortunately, we have very little in savings after dealing with our own health problems and paying off credit following Moira’s cancer diagnosis and loss last year.
Around Sunday, May 4th, Lyanna started having major issues with her bladder. She’s had bladder stones throughout her life and has been on a special diet to help, but, according to the vet, her bladder is filled with stones. She needs surgery TODAY, and the cost is more than we can afford. With the surgery, exam, x-rays, and potential medications, we’re looking at about $2500. It’s hit us at a particularly difficult time as well, and neither Seth nor I were financially prepared to take on this financial burden. In fact, this incident falls between both of our paychecks. We’re doing everything we can, but it’s still not enough.
Any little bit helps … I hate that we’re in this position so soon after having lost Moira to cancer, and I know that everyone is struggling a bit financially. Please understand that I would not ask if it wasn’t an absolute emergency. I don’t know where I’d be without Lyanna today, honestly …
Many thanks in advance. We’re insanely grateful for our girls and for the friends we have. If you’d like to donate a separate way from gofundme, my payment info is below. I’m happy to pay back what I can as early as Friday.

UPDATE: 8:06pm TUESDAY, MAY 6th
The surgery was harder than it should have been. After speaking at length with the vet, we determined to bring her home and monitor her for the night. The prognosis … isn’t … great.
It seems like the diet Lyanna has been on for the bladder stones has not been working. The vet indicated that her bladder was full of struvite stones, and the inside of her bladder … was not good. She also has an infection that may affect the healing process. Basically, these next 12 hours will determine if she will pull through or not.
I’m frankly at a loss for words. I’m preparing for the worst but hoping for the best … but I also know better than to get my hopes up.
WEDNESDAY, MAY 7th:
We lost Lyanna last night at around 11:50pm. It was just too hard on her body. She’s gone to join her sisters Moira and River at the Rainbow Bridge.
We still have a surgery bill and now cremation costs to settle. Please help if you can.
