(Update!)
I have unpaused the donations after I realized that I forgot Gofundme takes a portion. After also chatting with coworkers and friends- They informed me that if my estimate does stay the same and doesn’t drop or raise- I should also consider the fact I’ll need to be able to take care of myself during recovery. As well as pay any bills that month while not working for two weeks. You’re welcome to still donate, but we’ve at least hit the aimed goal and I appreciate everyone!! Anything extra donated currently is what will cover gofundmes fee, and help me cover bills/necessities during recovery!
Hey there, if you aren't someone who knows me or shared this GoFundMe- Let me Introduce myself and the reason for this. I am a tattoo artist based out in Wheatridge CO. I work with mostly LGBTQ+ clients, and I am also part of the transgender community (FtM) myself. Here soon I will be losing my parents insurance in July so I am trying to cover everything medical that I can get beforehand. I currently have a Hysterectomy surgery date on March 12th of this year. This surgery has been something I have been considering for a long time and knew it would lift a substantial weight off my shoulders. However, with how slow business has been and trying to pay my personal bills as well- There would be no way I could afford this all on my own in time. I was currently given an estimate of $4,136.88 out of pocket. It was around $6,000+ before insurance. I was told the estimate might change and I should call closer to the surgery date. In preparation for my surgery, I am trying to get this started early. I am hoping the estimate doesn't raise. However, if it happens to lower a substantial amount, I have planned that only a portion will be kept helping me pay part of my booth rent for the month. After the surgery I will be required to take two weeks off is what I was told. Days when I am not in the shop, I do not get paid. So missing work really causes a financial dip if I cannot get clients in. I am hoping the healing is fast like I have been told by others who have gotten it, so hopefully I can get back to work sooner than I expect. In the case of a large dip in the estimate, I will plan to donate the portion I do not need for anything. (Or pause the GoFundMe if it reaches that number) If you have suggestions for good charities or groups to donate to, please feel free to reach out with that info! This is of course only in the case of any extra money being left over. I will not know till I get an updated final estimate out of pocket. Anything donated seriously helps. I appreciate the community and people I have around me both near and far! Thank you for any shares or donations you can spare!! I love you guys and the support y'all have given me.
