He is a friend and inspiration to so many in our hot yoga community; always welcoming new students with tips and a smile and offering encouragement and humor to them after a challenging class.

He also runs a Food Pantry (Morning Star Outreach Ministry) out of a local church in Pasadena and has served as trustee at First AME Zion Church. Lawrence has consistently given his time, energy, and heart to help his community

I am grateful for the many times he made sure I was not the last person to leave the yoga studio at night and that we got to sing happy 74th birthday to him in class last year! My family has volunteered at his pantry and I have witnessed firsthand the profound impact his kindness and strength have on both neighbors and strangers. From picking up pallets of food at the LA Regional Food Bank with his truck to unloading, sorting, and distributing food on Saturdays—even throughout COVID—he worked tirelessly and with unwavering purpose. He has been an example to my kids of the power of faith, and the importance and joy that service to others can bring. Instead of loading up his truck with his important belongings, he stayed behind to make sure his elderly neighbors were woken up and able to evacuate and so most of his own possessions were left behind. Your contributions will help him secure temporary housing, purchase tools and equipment so he can return to work, and cover living expenses.
