Aid for Larson Family's Emergency Recovery
Donation protected
My name is Katlyn Wilson and I am emergently asking for assistance for my brother-in-law and his family!
Aaron Larson is a rural mail carrier in Eastern Tennessee and was involved in a major crash while completing his route on 02/12/2025.
The details are still developing, but what we currently understand is that while he was driving down a hill in torrential rainfall, something snapped under the front end of his vehicle when he hit the brakes. Unable to stop, the car continued out of control and he drove off the road and into a swollen river at about 30 miles an hour. His airbags deployed, and he was trapped in the car as it began to sink. It appears that he traveled several miles in the car before finding something to pop the airbags. The car was filling with water, but he was able to break a window to free himself. He then fought the current to swim to shore and drag himself to safety. He was deep in the woods and was forced to walk for about 30 minutes before he found a road. There, a good Samaritan that just happened to be passing by found Aaron and was able to get him help. Apparently, the vehicle was swept further downstream. No one knows the whereabouts of it at this point. Aaron was treated at the hospital for some minor injuries and hypothermia but has since been released and is at home recovering.
Aaron's wife, Sarah, and their 4 young children were here in Texas visiting family when this accident occurred. They need to get home and they will immediately need funds for a new vehicle that will safely transport their family of 6 (total). They will likely also need additional funds to cover bills and medical expenses over the next several weeks or months.
This family has been through a lot! Any assistance would be a blessing and would be allocated appropriately.
