Aid for Lady's Paralysis and Recovery

On Thursday night, in celebration of Valentine’s Day, Jessica and Miguel decided to treat themselves to pizza, bringing along their beloved four-year-old Australian Shepherd, Lady. However, their evening took a tragic turn when they were struck head-on by distracted and reckless teenagers. Miraculously, Miguel and Jessica walked away with only broken bones and stitches, but their dog wasn’t as lucky.

Despite her own injuries, Jessica initially refused treatment so she could stay with Lady while Miguel was taken by ambulance. However, the first responders insisted that Jessica be transported to the emergency room for her own care while they stayed with Lady. Lady was then taken to a local ICU where she received treatment for her injuries.

While Lady has returned home, she is unable to use her four legs. It’s still uncertain whether this is a permanent paralysis or a temporary setback. She will require further testing, physical therapy, and possibly surgery from a neurologist. The financial burden has already been significant due to her extended ICU stay, and will continue as she moves through recovery.
