I’m setting up a GoFundMe for my sister Jackie and her boyfriend John.

They have an 11 month Bernese Mountain Dog named Lady who recently faced a life-threatening emergency. Lady started getting sick, and after several days of worsening symptoms and not eating, she was hospitalized for 6 nights while vets ran extensive tests to determine the cause. Ultimately, she was transferred to AMC on the UES in NYC, where doctors diagnosed her with an intussusception - a serious condition where part of the intestine folds into itself, cutting off blood flow and requiring emergency surgery to survive.

Thanks to an incredible team of veterinarians, Lady’s surgery went well and is now on the road to recovery and getting back to her playful puppy self.

Unfortunately, the cost of her emergency care totaled $19k. After insurance, Jackie and John are left with about $17k of expenses.
