As some of you saw, I met a family at church yesterday 8/2, and I’ve been helping them ever since. I did not personally know them until yesterday, but now Kristene has become a friend.

There were 9 cats that needed emergency placement. This morning, 16-year-old George, the family’s geriatric gentleman, came home with me. My hope is that he can spend the rest of his days in my home filled with stability, comfort, and love.

The other 8 cats are being graciously fostered by the Neenah Animal Shelter while their owners work toward getting back on their feet.

Here’s a little of their story:

Kristene and her son, Joseph, are simply a family that needs a helping hand. They both have employment, but they lost everything in last Tuesday’s Menasha tornado. Their full story isn’t mine to tell, but after spending time listening to them, I truly believe God placed them in my path for a reason.

The Red Cross is currently working to help them secure housing, and once they’re stable, Kristene hopes to be reunited with some of her cats—especially her emotional support animals.

They love these cats deeply. Honestly, they put their cats before themselves.

So today, I’m asking for help.

If you’d like to donate, every dollar will go directly toward helping this family. Specifically, donations will be used for:

George’s veterinary care. He has his first appointment on Wednesday, and I’m praying for a clean bill of health so he can enjoy his golden years comfortably.

Clothing essentials and gas or Lyft/Uber gift cards for Kristene and Joseph.

Helping relieve approximately $850 in existing medical and other urgent debts that have become an overwhelming burden.

Support towards their permanent housing and getting needed furnishings.

Supplies for the eight cats currently being cared for by the Neenah Animal Shelter.

If you’re unable to give financially, sharing this post or praying for this family means just as much.

Thank you to everyone who has already reached out, offered encouragement, and shown kindness.
