Hi friends!
Wednesday night, 7/23/25, my cat Kiss was vomiting, seizing, and panting. He was rushed to Bay Street Animal Hospital where they quickly took him in and admitted him. His X-rays show fluid in his lungs, which he’s being treated for, as well as high glucose at 344. He was on oxygen overnight the first night but thankfully was able to get off it Thursday morning, only needing 3 daily nebulizer treatments. He has been there since, and we still do not have a diagnosis, unfortunately. Possible diagnoses are looking like either diabetes, asthma, or pneumonia.
The staff there are great and so friendly, so he’s in great hands, but the bill is going to be on the higher end of the estimate they gave me, which I am going to have trouble paying.
Andy and I have been visiting him twice a day to make sure he eats because he only eats when we are with him. He’s a big scaredy cat and has not stayed overnight in a hospital since he was neutered at 6 months old. He will turn 9 in November.
Anything and everything is appreciated and will go towards Kiss’ care.
Please share if you are able. I will update you all when I know more information. Andy and I are hoping our boy comes home today, but we are still unsure.
The last thing I ever want to do is ask for help, but it’s come to a point where I don’t really have a choice. My family has encouraged me to put this together and I'm taking their advice.
I love and appreciate you all greatly.
