Aid for Kayla's Life-Saving Treatment

En español el final:

We are starting a fundraiser for Kayla Benítez (my wife’s cousin). She was having some health complications, and a MRI revealed a tumor that needed to be removed. The initial unsuccessful attempt to remove this tumor led to a stroke that has left half of Kay’s body paralyzed and has impacted her cognitive ability. All of this is further complicated by the fact that she has diabetes. A couple of days later she also contracted bacterial meningitis. Unfortunately insurance works very differently in Honduras — as such, the hospital system will withhold life saving critical medication if payment is not received in due time; even if it means the person receiving the care will pass away. This is the reason we wanted to start this GoFund Me, per a request from the family (people residing in Honduras are not allowed to start a GoFund Me). Any amount that is donated will be directly wired to the family in Honduras to help them afford the expensive medications that are helping Kay fight for her life, and will also help Kay with her tumor removal surgery that she will prayerfully have once she recovers from the meningitis. The family has already expended large sums of money as this issue has been going on for a few weeks now, and neither the medication or the time spent in the hospital is affordable; especially in Honduras.

Kay has a one year old son who needs her to get well soon. He misses her greatly.

If you are unable to donate money to Kay, the family completely understands. They first and foremost ask that you please pray for her and her family during this time. It is a very scary time for Kay and her family.
