I’m reaching out on behalf of my sister, Kaui, and her family, who are facing an unimaginable hardship. Kaui lives with her fiancé, Kamakaia, their six children, his parents, and grandmother in their newly built home on Hawaiian Homesteads.

The Kila ʻOhana has been part of the Nanakuli Homestead for over 20 years. In September 2025, they completed an extension to their home, finally creating a space where both families could live comfortably together.

Just four months later, on New Year’s Day, they received devastating news: their home had caught fire and is now uninhabitable, leaving their entire household displaced.

They have lost everything—clothing, food, and a safe place to stay. They are in immediate need of resources, especially with the children preparing to return to school soon. The contractor estimates a 4–6 month rebuild, leaving them displaced for the foreseeable future.

The road ahead will be challenging, and we humbly ask for your prayers to uplift this ʻohana in their time of need. Kaui has always been someone my family and I can depend on. She is the hardest-working person I know and pours her heart into caring for her family.

We are asking our community, near and far, to come together and support this family as they begin the long road to rebuilding their lives. Any donation, big or small, will make a meaningful difference and help them get back on their feet.
