My Name Is Karam, and This Is My Story From Gaza
My name is Karam Abu Sharkh, and I am writing these words from Gaza, not from a home, but from a broken tent.
Our house was bombed.
We lost everything in a moment.
After that, we tried to survive in a tent… but even that did not last.
Strong winds came, and our tent collapsed and broke.
Now we are exposed to cold, fear, and uncertainty — with no safe place to sleep.
I want to be honest:
I have never received help before.
This is the first time in my life I ask for support.
I have:
• No house
• No money
• No job
• No laptop
• No tools to work
• Only one phone for my entire family
And even this phone is not always working well.
The hardest part of all this…
My child is suffering from malnutrition.
As a father, there is no pain greater than seeing your child hungry and feeling powerless.
If I had a laptop or proper phone, I would work online.
If I had income, I would never ask.
But war took everything from us.
This campaign is not only about surviving.
If I receive help, my goal is not just to protect my family —
I also want to help others around me in Gaza who are suffering like us, even if it is with small things.
I am not asking for luxury.
I am asking for:
• Safety
• Food
• Warmth
• A chance to stand again
If you are reading this, please know:
Your donation, even a small one, can save a family, can feed a child, can restore dignity.
If you cannot donate, please share this campaign
Sharing is also help.
From Gaza, from a broken tent,
Thank you for seeing us.
Thank you for not looking away.
Thank you for giving us hope.
