Aid for Jocelyn's Healing and Monica's Support

Hi everyone,

I’m writing this on behalf of my best friend Monica and her fiancé Jocelyn who recently experienced a terrifying and life-changing medical emergency.

On January 25th, she rescued a cat in need — not knowing that this act of kindness would trigger a severe allergic reaction and a catastrophic asthma attack. Shortly after, her 17-year-old son found her unresponsive. What followed was nothing short of a miracle.

During the ambulance ride, she went into cardiac arrest. Paramedics performed emergency resuscitation and manually ventilated her to keep her alive. She was rushed to the ICU immediately, where doctors intubated her and placed her in an induced coma for several days while they fought to stabilize her breathing and ultimately save her life.

She survived — but the aftermath has been overwhelming.

Because of prolonged oxygen deprivation, she is now facing short-term memory loss, motor skill difficulties, and ongoing neurological concerns. She requires extensive follow-up care, including therapy, brain scans, specialist appointments, and costly medications to support her recovery.

To make matters even harder, she has no health insurance, and the medical bills from her ICU stay and continuing treatment are rapidly piling up.

Her beloved pets were quickly and safely rehoused, but her entire life changed overnight. Once an active, vibrant paddle boarder who found peace and joy on the water, she is now navigating a new reality — one focused on healing, rehabilitation, and simply trying to regain a sense of normalcy.

We are asking for support to help cover:
• ICU and emergency hospitalization expenses
• Ongoing therapy and rehabilitation
• Neurological testing and brain scans
• Prescription medications
• Continued medical follow-up and recovery care

Every donation, share, and kind word helps lift the weight of this unimaginable burden. Our hope is to give her the chance to fully recover and return to the life she loves — to breathe freely again, to heal, and one day to paddle board once more.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your compassion, generosity, and support.
