My name is Rebecca Kahle. I’m the daughter of Jill Self. On behalf of my older sister Shawn and younger brother Richard, we are trying to help our mom and dad during this difficult time.

Our mom is currently in the hospital in Seattle. She is battling leukemia that has recently spread to her stomach, lungs, and throat. Tonight (12/09/25) started chemotherapy. Her leukemia has become very aggressive. Prior to being in Seattle, she had been in and out of the hospital in their town, Port Angeles, Washington. The doctors thought at first it was her gallbladder, then saw that her spleen was enlarged. The hospital kept sending her home, and in the midst of that, she had a mild stroke. She was transferred to a rehabilitation center in Port Townsend to recover. From there, she was taken to Seattle due to her leukemia. She is a fighter, and her body is having to fight so hard right now. We are currently waiting on some biopsy reports to come back so that her team of doctors can work diligently to combat this.

Our dad is traveling back and forth from Port Angeles and has to take a ferry. Hoping to help alleviate the financial stress for him, so that he can focus on being there with her and not having to worry about gas, lodging, food, etc.
